Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</span></span></span></div><div style="text-align:left"><br/></div><p>MANILA — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is looking to incorporate a jobs portal into the e-Gov app, the agency’s chief said on Wednesday.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/8/6/unemployment-underemployment-rates-edge-down-in-june-from-may-0921">Unemployment, underemployment rates edge down in June from May</a></div><p>“We will soon launch the skills passport,” TESDA Director General Jose Francisco Benitez told state television PTV.</p><p>“So ngayon ang nasa e-gov app is parang resume pa lang but slowly po dadagdagan yan hanggang maging completely functional, hanggang trabaho sana,” he said.</p><p>Benitez did not give a timeline for the app update, but noted that TESDA has been working to develop its systems to become more responsive to modern times.</p><p>“Sa bilis ng mga pagbabago sa world of work, we need more flexible and adaptable, agile training systems,” Benitez said.</p><p>As of 2024, the employment rate of TESDA graduates is at 86 percent, while passing rate in national certification examinations was at 90 percent, according to data from the agency.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/7/30/4-out-of-5-firms-willing-to-hire-shs-graduates-if-skills-certified-tesda-1818">4 out of 5 firms willing to hire SHS graduates if skills certified – TESDA</a></div><p>The Philippines posted a lower unemployment rate in June compared to May, while the underemployment rate also edged down during the month, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said on Wednesday.  </p><p>In June, the jobless rate was seen at 3.7 percent, which was lower than the 3.9 percent recorded in May.
