Handout </div>MANILA - HP Philippines launched on Wednesday a new laptop and desktop that both have enough power to run AI programs without needing cloud services.The tech giant said its ZBook Ultra G1a laptop and the Z2 Mini G1a Workstation desktop PC, enable users to run complex workflows simultaneously such as 3D design, render graphics-intensive projects, and work locally with large language models (LLMs).According to HP, the ZBook Ultra G1a is currently its most powerful 14” mobile workstation, while the Z2 Mini G1a is its most powerful mini workstation.HP officials said the new PCs are meant for doing serious work and finishing tasks at a much faster pace than consumer-grade machines.“These two new, next-gen AI PCs are designed to handle demanding AI workloads, accelerate creative processes, and support high-performance professional applications, empowering professionals, businesses and creatives to achieve new levels of productivity, performance and innovation,” HP said in a statement.<div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1769005970928HP ZBOOK.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>The HP ZBook Ultra G1a workstation. Arthur Fuentes, ABS-CBN News </div>The two new workstations are powered by AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO processors, which deliver up to 50 TOPS NPU of AI processing capability. They also have a unified memory architecture of up to 128GB and up to 96GB assignable to the GPU, which allows them to handle demanding applications — from generative design and 3D rendering to AI model deployment and real-time content creation, HP said.Professionals and creatives are the target market for these workstations, HP said. “Many Filipino creators and professionals today are handling far more complex tasks than they were even a few years ago. Our goal with ZBook Ultra and Z2 Mini is simply to make sure they have tools that match those evolving demands,” said Ida Evina Ong-Co, Managing Director of HP Philippines.The new workstations also serve as entry points to HP’s line of even more powerful workstations, some of which can be configured to have up to 4 NVIDIA graphics cards. HP said its workstations can also be ‘stacked’ with up to 48 units daisy-chained to create a mini data center, which could be used by organizations like schools, to train students to develop AI solutions.  “So for example, if they want to, because you know, if you are teaching a student on how to develop AI solutions, when they develop they need to test it out, which means they need more graphics power, which means they need more compute power to do it. So instead of buying an expensive machine for themselves, they can actually tap into that power,” said Tarun Relhan, Advanced Compute Solutions Category Manager of HP Greater Asia.The new workstations are available for purchase on HP.com starting from January 22.
