<p>MANILA – The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Thursday assured the public that there has been no breach in its e-Government (e-Gov) application, amid circulating reports of alleged data leaks and hacking incidents since 2024. </p><p>In an interview on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr. clarified that the data referenced in earlier reports did not come from the e-Gov platform itself, but from a third-party system linked to it. </p><p>He explained that the exposed data came from an agency’s complaint system integrated into the platform. </p><p>“Wala pong breach sa ating e-Gov app. ‘Yon pong mga nabalita dati na may breach, ito po ay e-complaint system ng isang ahensiya na nag-integrate sa e-Gov. Doon po nagsusumbong ‘yung mga reklamo nila,” Almirol said.</p><p>Almirol added that the e-Gov app connects more than 1,000 government systems, but the DICT does not directly handle or store the data of these agencies.</p><p>He also assured users that the platform is secure, citing multiple layers of encryption designed to protect information.</p><p>“Kahit programmer namin, ‘di kayang basahin ang datos… may layers of security po natin na nilagay. And at the same time, kahit unified platform siya, ang mga datos ay wala sa amin.
