Expect light rains in Metro Manila particularly in the morning as the northeast monsoon continues to affect northern and central Luzon on Monday, weather bureau PAGASA said.

PAGASA weather forecaster Dan Villamil said the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to affect Luzon for the rest of the week. Characteristics of amihan include cool winds and light rains particularly in the morning, he said.

Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan.
