Traffic started to slow down at Balintawak Toll Plaza on Saturday afternoon due to heavy vehicle volume.

As of 3 p.m., similar congestion was observed at the NLEX Harbor Link Interchange heading toward the Mindanao Exit and the NLEX Northbound.

Adding to the day's activity, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) held an event at the Philippine Arena, which began at 8 a.m.

However, according to NLEX-SCTEX patrol personnel, there was no traffic buildup heading into the Philippine Arena throughout the morning.

Attendees of the INC event were advised to use the NLEX Ciudad de Victoria Exit, the designated entry and exit point for the Philippine Arena.

Meanwhile, motorists heading to Bocaue or Santa Maria, Bulacan, were encouraged to take alternative routes via the Marilao, Bocaue, or Tambubong exits.

NLEX reminded motorists to ensure their RFID accounts are sufficiently loaded and to allow extra travel time as heavy traffic is expected throughout the day.

Additional traffic personnel were deployed in various areas to assist motorists.
