MANILA -- Three weather systems will affect several parts of the country this week. 

According to the state weather bureau PAGASA, the Amihan or the northeastern monsoon will bring cold weather to Luzon and parts of Visayas until Friday. 

Temperatures in Baguio and Quezon City may drop to 11-12°C and 19-21°C, respectively.  

The Amihan surge will also bring light to moderate rains over Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Mindoro Monday through Thursday.

Along with the Amihan surge, a shear line, which is the convergence of cold and warm winds, will reach Caraga and slowly retreating north to eastern Luzon by Thursday. 

This means there will be moderate to heavy rains over Eastern Visayas on Monday, Northern Caraga on Tuesday, Eastern and Central Visayas on Wednesday, and Eastern Visayas, Bicol, northern MIMAROPA, and Quezon on Thursday. 

The Easterlies or winds that blow from the east will be prevalent in the country Friday until the weekend. 

It will bring scattered rains over parts of Mindanao especially Caraga and Davao most of the week; the eastern portion of Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon on Friday; and Batanes and Babuyan Islands on Saturday. 

In Metro Manila, there will be cool and mostly cloudy weather during the week, with sunny morning spells Monday and Tuesday, possible light rains Thursday and Friday.  

Hot conditions and isolated afternoon thunderstorms will be experienced in NCR during the weekend.
