MANILA -- Northern and Central Luzon will experience moderate rains this week due to Amihan or the northeast monsoon, according to the state weather bureau.

PAGASA said the Amihan surge on Monday and Friday which will affect Northern and Central Luzon, particularly Cordillera and Cagayan Valley, the entire week.

Southern Luzon will be affected by a shear line, the convergence of the northeast monsoon and the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

This means widespread moderate to heavy rains over Bicol, eastern CALABARZON, and northern MIMAROPA beginning Monday. PAGASA warned that flooding and landslides are expected in these areas.
