Thunderstorms in Metro Manila; amihan, shear line to affect Luzon

The northeast monsoon is set to affect Northern Luzon while the shear line will affect the eastern sections of Central Luzon and Southern Luzon Monday as travelers return to work after the New Year holiday.

Localized thunderstorms, meanwhile, will affect Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

As of 2 a.m., weather bureau PAGASA is not monitoring any low pressure area for tropical cyclone formation.

Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region will experience cloudy skies with rains while Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Quezon, and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).
