<p>Typhoon Uwan continues to weaken further Monday and is forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Tuesday, weather bureau PAGASA said early Monday.</p><p>As of 4 a.m. Monday, the center of the eye of Typhoon Uwan was estimated based on all available data including those from Benguet Doppler Weather Radar over the coastal waters of Bacnotan, La Union. Packing maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 230 km/h, Uwan is moving west northwestward at 25 km/h.</p><p>PAGASA weather forecaste Aldczar Aurelio noted the Sierra Madre mountain range was a &quot;big help&quot; in weakening the cyclone. </p><p>&quot;Siya &#x27;yung panangga sa malalakas na bagyo kasi isang parte ng bagyo ay &#x27;yung hangin na papunta sa gitna...Kapag mayroong bundok, nagkakaroon ng disturbance so &#x27;yung hangin na papunta sa gitna ay hindi nangyayari dahil nahaharang...Unti-unting hihina ang bagyo,&quot; he said. </p><p>“Inaasahan itong lalabas ng PAR sa araw ng Martes,” he added.</p><p>The weather bureau said Uwan is forecast to forecast to re-intensify between Tuesday and Wednesday (12 November).
