<p>MANILA <strong>(UPDATE) </strong>— More areas were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 Monday as Typhoon Tino bore down on the Caraga-Eastern Visayas area.</p><p>At 7 p.m., Tino was located 95 kilometers east southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hours near the center, with gusts of up to 170 kph.</p><div> </div><p>Moving westward at 20 kph, Tino may make landfall or pass very close to Homonhon Island or Dinagat Islands late Monday or early Tuesday at 140 to 155 kph winds.</p><p>It is then expected to make landfall over Leyte or Southern Leyte by early Tuesday morning, before crossing the Visayas and northern Palawan throughout Tuesday and Wednesday early morning.</p><p>According to PAGASA, Tino make make its initial landfall at or near peak intensity. It is also expected to remain at typhoon category throughout its passage over the country.</p><div><strong>WIND SIGNALS</strong></div><p>PAGASA raised Signal No. 4 over the following areas:</p><ul><li>extreme southeastern portion of Eastern Samar</li><li>western and southern portion of Leyte</li><li>Southern Leyte</li><li>northern portion of Cebu including Camotes Islands</li><li>northeastern portion of Bohol</li><li>Dinagat Islands</li><li>Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>Signal No. 3 remains hoisted over the following areas:</p><ul><li>southern portion of Eastern Samar</li><li>southern portion of Samar</li><li>central portion of Leyte</li><li>extreme northern and central portions of Cebu including Bantayan Islands</li><li>central and eastern portions of Bohol</li><li>northern portion of Negros Oriental</li><li>northern portion of Negros Occidental</li><li>Guimaras</li><li>Iloilo</li><li>southern portion of Capiz</li><li>central and southern portions of Antique</li><li>rest of Surigao del Norte</li></ul><p>The following areas are under Signal No. 2:</p><ul><li>southern portion of Masbate</li><li>southern portion of Romblon</li><li>Cuyo Islands</li><li>central portion of Eastern Samar</li><li>central portion of Samar</li><li>rest of leyte</li><li>Biliran</li><li>rest of Bohol</li><li>rest of Cebu</li><li>central portion of Negros Oriental</li><li>rest of Negros Occidental</li><li>Siquijor</li><li>rest of Capiz</li><li>Aklan</li><li>rest of Antique including Caluya Islands</li><li>northern portion of Surigao del Sur</li><li>northern portion of Agusan del Sur</li><li>northern portion of Agusan del Norte</li><li>Camiguin</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>Signal No. 1 is likewise hoisted over the following areas:</p><ul><li>Albay</li><li>Sorsogon</li><li>rest of Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands</li><li>southern portion of Quezon</li><li>southern portion of Marinduque</li><li>rest of Romblon</li><li>Oriental Mindoro</li><li>Occidental Mindoro</li><li>northern and central portions of Palawan including Calamian Islands and Cagayancillo Islands</li><li>Northern Samar</li><li>rest of Eastern Samar</li><li>rest of Samar</li><li>rest of Negros Oriental</li><li>rest of Surigao del Sur</li><li>central portion of Agusan del Sur</li><li>rest of Agusan del Norte</li><li>Misamis Oriental</li><li>northern portion of Bukidnon</li><li>northern portion of Misamis Occidental</li><li>northern portion of Zamboanga del Norte</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>The typhoon’s rainbands and the shear line will bring significant rainfall across the country through Thursday noon.</p><p>Up to torrential rains are expected over Samar, Leyte, Cebu, Negros, Guimaras, and Panay through Wednesday noon.</p><p>Widespread and serious flooding and landslides are possible.</p><p>Tino may also generate more than three meters of storm surge that may inundate ow-lying or exposed coastal communities of Masbate, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Camiguin.</p><p>The typhoon will be out of the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday morning.</p>
