Scattered rains to affect several parts of PH this week, but no weather disturbance expected

Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA -- A new surge of Amihan or northeast monsoon is expected to bring cold weather and moderate rains in Luzon this week. According to ABS-CBN&#x27;s resident meteorologist Ariel Rojas, this will affect Northern Luzon Monday and Tuesday, gradually advance to Central Luzon by Wednesday or Thursday, and reach Southern Luzon Friday through Sunday. Moderate rains will be occasionally experienced in said areas. Cooler temperatures will prevail towards the weekend. Meanwhile, a shear line will combine with Amihan and linger over Bicol and Visayas Friday through Sunday. This will bring scattered moderate to heavy rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora Monday through Wednesday and eastern CALABARZON, Bicol, MIMAROPA, and Visayas Thursday through Sunday Flooding and landslides are expected in these areas. Various parts of Mindanao will experience intense thunderstorms usually in the afternoon but especially in Caraga and Davao regions almost all day long Thursday to Sunday. Metro Manila will be partly cloudy Monday and Tuesday and mostly cloudy for the remainder of the week, with possible light rains Friday to weekend. Apart from the said weather systems, no weather disturbance is expected this week.
