The northeast monsoon or amihan is making a comeback in Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with rains to Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon while the rest of the country is affected by the easterlies, weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 4 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Dagupan City in Pangasinan is forecast to experience 42 degrees Celsius heat index Tuesday, with even higher temperatures on Wednesday.
