MANILA — Masbate City in Masbate faces the highest index level of 44 degrees Celsius on Thursday, May 29, according to weather bureau PAGASA.

Five other areas follow with 43°, which are Aparri, Cagayan; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; ISU Echague, Isabela; TAU Camiling, Tarlac; and Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte.

Residents in areas under the dangerous heat index levels are advised to look out for possible heat cramps and heat exhaustion, as well as heat stroke if continuous sun exposure is unavoidable.

Meanwhile, Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Bataan, Zambales, and Palawan may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwesterly windflow.

Localized thunderstorms may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Residents are advised to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
