MANILA — A low pressure area over Batangas dissipated early Wednesday, state weather bureau PAGASA said, adding that parts of the country could continue experiencing rains due to the easterlies.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Pangasinan, Oriental Mindoro, and Marinduque.

PAGASA said residents in these areas should be on the lookout for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and Tawi-Tawi will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the intertropical convergence zone.

The rest of Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley could expect localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

It said the rest of the country would see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.
