(UPDATED) The country will experience moderate to intense rains in several regions Saturday and Sunday due to a low pressure area and the southwest monsoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said. PAGASA said the LPA was last spotted 200 kilometers east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes at 8 p.m.  The southwest monsoon or habagat, meanwhile, will affect the western part of the country. The LPA is currently affecting Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar. From Saturday night until Sunday night, the LPA is expected to bring 50-100 mm rainfall to Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.From Sunday night to Monday night, around 50-100 mm rain is expected to drench Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.From Monday evening to Tuesday evening, around 50-100 mm rainfall is expected in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.Meanwhile, the habagat will bring moderate to heavy (50-100 mm) rainfall Saturday night to Sunday evening in Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, and Zamboanga del Norte.From Sunday evening to Monday evening, heavy to intense (100-200 mm) rainfall is expected in Palawan and Occidental Mindoro; and moderate to heavy (50-100 mm) rainfall in Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental;From Monday evening to Tuesday evening, heavy to intense (100-200 mm) rainfall is expected in Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique; and moderate to heavy (50-100 mm) rainfall in Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Romblon, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental.&quot;Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,&quot; PAGASA warned.
