<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17527487806691752748787435.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="Himawari-9/RAMMB satellite imagery"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><em>Himawari-9/RAMMB satellite imagery</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA - Tropical depression Crising maintained its strength Thursday afternoon as it moved offshore just east of Aurora province, state weather bureau PAGASA said.</p><p>The center of the tropical cyclone was  estimated to be at 335 km northeast of Virac, Catanduanes as of 4 p.m., and is moving west northwestward at 30 kilometers per hour. </p><p>It is packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, with gusts of up to 70 kph. Strong winds are extend outwards up to 500 km from the center, PAGASA said.</p><p>Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is raised over the following areas:</p><p>Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Quirino, the northern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Kasibu, Quezon, Bagabag, Diadi, Bayombong, Solano, Ambaguio, Villaverde, Dupax del Norte, Bambang, Kayapa), the northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler), Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, the northern portion of Benguet (Bakun, Mankayan, Buguias, Kibungan, Kabayan, Bokod, Atok, Kapangan), Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, the northern portion of La Union (Bangar, Sudipen, Luna, Balaoan, Santol, San Gabriel, Bacnotan), Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, the northern portion of Camarines Sur (Caramoan, Garchitorena, Lagonoy, San Jose, Presentacion, Tinambac, Siruma, Goa), and Catanduanes.</p><p>PAGASA said impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1. </p><p>The state weather bureau said a landfall over mainland Cagayan by Friday evening is possible. </p><p>The tropical cyclone is expected to move westward traversing Northern Luzon, and turn west northwestward until it exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday afternoon.</p><p>PAGASA said Crising is forecast to reach Tropical Storm category Thursday night or Friday morning. &quot;It will continue to intensify until it reaches Severe Tropical Storm category by Saturday morning or afternoon. However, further intensification over the Philippine Sea and the possibility of reaching Severe Tropical Storm before landfall is not ruled out,&quot; it added.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17527488475091752748855112.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="Projected track of Tropical depression Crising. PAGASA"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Projected track of Tropical depression Crising. <em>PAGASA</em></span></span></span></div><p>In a separate heavy rainfall advisory, the state weather bureau said from Thursday to Friday aftenoon,  around 200 mm rainfall is expected in Cagayan, Isabela, and Catanduanes.</p><p>Meanwhile, 100-200 mm rainfall is expected in Apayao, Kalinga, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.</p><p>Around 50-100 mm rainfall is forecast in  Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, and Biliran.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>From Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon (July 19), PAGASA&#x27;s forecast rainfall in the following areas:</strong></div><p>(&gt;200 mm): Apayao and Ilocos Norte</p><p>(100-200 mm): Batanes, Cagayan, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan</p><p>(50-100 mm): Ifugao, Isabela, and Nueva Vizcaya</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>From Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon:</strong></div><p>(50-100 mm): Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur</p><p>PAGASA also issued a heavy rainfall outlook due to the southwest monsoon.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Thursday to Friday afternoon:</strong></div><p>(100-200 mm): Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Iloilo, Guimaras, Antique, and Negros Occidental</p><p>(50-100 mm): Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, Capiz, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Cebu, Zamboanga del Norte, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon:</strong></div><p>(100-200 mm): Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique</p><p>(50-100 mm): Metro Manila, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Aklan, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, and Negros Oriental</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon:</strong></div><p>(100-200 mm): Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro</p><p>(50-100 mm): Metro Manila, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and Oriental Mindoro</p><p>Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas.
