Nearly 24,000 affected by ‘Crising’ in Visayas, Mindanao — NDRRMC

MANILA — Nearly 24,000 individuals in parts of Visayas and Mindanao have been affected by <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/7/17/crising-now-a-tropical-storm-approaches-n-luzon-0604">tropical storm Crising</a>, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday. In its 6 a.m. situational report, the NDRRMC said a total of 7,501 families or 23,918 individuals, across 56 barangays in Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Soccsksargen were affected, mostly due to flooding.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/7/18/crising-nagdala-ng-malakas-ng-ulan-pagbaha-sa-mga-lalawigan-1125">Crising nagdala ng malakas ng ulan, pagbaha sa mga lalawigan</a></div>At least 38 families sought shelter in evacuation centers in Western Visayas and 77 in Soccsksargen, while others stayed in alternative locations.The NDRRMC also reported rain-induced landslides in Barangay Lagtang in Talisay, Cebu, and in barangays Apas and Poblacion Pardo in Cebu City. One house was reported damaged in Barangay Sibalom, Antique.Storm-related disruptions included the suspension of sea port operations and <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/7/17/-walangpasok-class-suspensions-on-friday-july-18-1915">classes </a>in the affected regions.
