Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Students coming from schools along IBP Road in Quezon City traverse the streets amid the monsoon rains on July 21, 2025. <em>Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) on Monday said many of its regional offices are still under “blue alert” as heavy rainfall threatens parts of the country.</p><p>Junie Castillo, OCD spokesperson, said based on their, monitoring, light to moderate, and heavy rains at times, are expected in the regions.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/8/31/new-lpa-off-eastern-samar-may-bring-rains-next-week-1116">READ: New LPA off Eastern Samar may bring rains next week</a></div><p>“Halos buong Pilipinas pa rin po iyong ating mga NDRRM and regional and local DRRM operation center ay naka-blue alert pa rin,” Castillo said in a public briefing.</p><p>“Dahil naka-blue alert pa rin po iyong ating mga regional offices at saka iyong iba na mga local DRRM office natin, iyong mga clearing operations, mas mainam na magawa kaagad kung umayos-ayos na yung panahon, dahil ang inaasahan nga natin, mayroon pa rin pong mga dulot na pag-ulan itong ating mga weather systems na nararanasan natin ngayon,” Castillo said.</p><p>He said response agencies for search, rescue, and retrieval operations, as well as for debris clearing and civil works clusters are still on standby.</p><p>Meanwhile, the agency said it is also preparing for the threat of severe thunderstorms, the southwest monsoon, and the Low Pressure Area, urging the residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas to remain alert.</p><p>“Nakatutok po hindi lang po ang Office of Civil Defense, pati iyong ating mga other response  agencies na kasama natin dito sa inter-agency coordinating cell at saka sa response cluster, so tuloy-tuloy pa rin po, naka-preposition po iyong ating mga family food packs, through the DSWD and  local government units,” he said.  </p><p>The OCD, he added, has also prepared hygiene kits and non-food items, and their response equipment are on standby in different regional offices.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uEJQM2oeEi4?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
