The low pressure area east of Mindanao now has a high potential for storm formation in the next 24 hours, according to PAGASA.At 3 a.m., January 14, the LPA was located 755 km east of Davao City. Its trough or extension is already affecting parts of Visayas and Mindanao.The weather disturbance will be assigned the local name Ada once it develops into the country’s first tropical depression this year.Wind signals may be immediately raised in parts of Mindanao and Visayas.Ada is seen to move northwestward and make close approach to or landfall over Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region between Friday and Saturday.Significant rainfall may be expected across many areas in central Philippines. Flooding and landslides are expected.The forecast however remains highly uncertain so the public is advised to continuously monitor updates on this weather disturbance.
