Handout/PAGASA</div>MANILA — Tropical depression Basyang is expected to bring heavy rainfall over several parts of Visayas and Mindanao by Wednesday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.At 10 p.m. Tuesday, Basyang was located 965 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao.It has maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph), with gustiness up to 70 kph and is moving westward at 10 kph.Basyang will bring more rains than strong winds. Moderate to heavy rainfall will be experienced over many parts of Visayas and Mindanao from Wednesday evening through the weekend.Widespread and serious flooding and landslides are likely in these areas.The weather bureau also said it may raise wind signals over parts of Caraga Region beginning Wednesday in anticipation of Basyang. Basyang may intensify up to tropical storm strength by Wednesday while moving generally westward towards Mindanao.Wind signal no. 2 will be the highest wind warning that may be hoisted during the storm’s passage.<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1770134884873viber_image_2026-02-03_23-54-42-558.jpg" style="width:960px;display:block;height:auto" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="The track and intensity forecast of tropical depression &#x27;Basyang&#x27; as of 11:00 p.m. on February 3, 2026.
