<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1770337420270philippines_band_13_20260205204000.gif" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">RAMB/US NOAA/Himawari</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — Tropical storm Basyang was spotted over the Bohol Sea on Friday morning and was heading towards Central Visayas, PAGASA said. </p><p>At 7 a.m, Basyang was over the coastal waters of Malimono, Surigao del Norte, packing winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 90 kph, the state weather bureau said.</p><p>Moving west northwestward at 20 kph, Basyang may make landfall or pass very close to the southern portions of Bohol, Cebu, and Negros islands, PAGASA said. It said Basyang would cross northern Palawan by Saturday evening as a tropical depression and eventually weaken into a remnant low once over the West Philippine Sea on Sunday.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17703375386731770337535747.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>Wind signal no. 2 remained raised in the following areas. </p><ul><li>southwestern Leyte</li><li>Southern Leyte</li><li>Bohol</li><li>central and southern Cebu</li><li>Siquijor</li><li>Negros Oriental</li><li>southern Negros Occidental</li><li>Dinagat Islands</li><li>Surigao del Norte</li><li>northern Surigao del Sur</li><li>Agusan del Norte</li><li>northern Agusan del Sur</li><li>Camiguin</li><li>Misamis Oriental</li><li>northeastern Misamis Occidental</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>Twenty-five other areas in Mindanao, Visayas, and Southern Luzon were under wind signal no. 1. </p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17703375132741770337510949.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><div><iframe width="725" height="408" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dZtAKJgDx3I" title="PH braces for storm &#x27;Basyang&#x27; | ANC" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
