Trump takes office for his second non-consecutive term as the 47th president of the United States. <em>Kevin Lamarque / POOL / AFP </em></span></span></span></div><p>WASHINGTON - US President Donald Trump signed a new travel ban on Wednesday banning people from 12 countries to &quot;protect Americans from dangerous foreign actors&quot;, the White House said.</p><p>Trump said he had signed a new travel ban on 12 countries because of an attack on a Jewish protest in Colorado that authorities blamed on a man they say was in the country illegally.</p><p>&quot;The recent terror attack in Boulder, Colorado has underscored the extreme dangers posed to our country by the entry of foreign nationals who are not properly vetted,&quot; Trump said in a video message.</p><p>The ban targets nationals of Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, it said in a statement.</p><p>A man yelling &quot;free Palestine&quot; used incendiary devices to torch protesters rallying in support of Israeli hostages, injuring at least eight people in the US state of Colorado on Sunday.</p><p>The FBI said it was investigating the incident as a &quot;targeted terror attack&quot; and identified the suspect as 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman.</p><p>He was booked into the county jail just before midnight on multiple felony charges, according to county records.
