At one point, the person filming asks the distraught woman if she had been riding with the victim. “That’s my wife,” she replies through tears.Reuters was able to confirm the location by the buildings, road layout and trees which matched file and satellite imagery of the area and corroborating verified visuals from the scene. The date when the video was taken was verified by the original file metadata.The woman was shot and killed on Wednesday (January 7) after an encounter with U.S. immigration agents during an enforcement operation, according to local and federal officials, in the latest violent incident linked to President Donald Trump’s nationwide immigration crackdown.Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has rejected the Trump administration’s claim that the agent fired in self-defense, saying video of the shooting contradicts what he called the government’s “garbage narrative.”The Department of Homeland Security said the officer fired after a “violent rioter” attempted to run over ICE agents in what it described as an act of domestic terrorism.
