MANILA -- Dozens of activists protested near the U.S. embassy in Manila on Tuesday (March 3) and burned an American flag in condemnation against the recent U.S.-Israel attack on Iran.Activists held their protest a few hundred meters away from the U.S. embassy after police blocked them from demonstrating outside the embassy. Activists claimed that the attacks initiated by the U.S. and Israel were meant to destabilize the region and cause unnecessary deaths.Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reported that one Filipina worker was killed in Israel on March 1 and advised the Filipinos living in conflict areas to take shelter. Over 2.4 million Filipinos are currently staying in the Middle East, mostly as workers, according to the Philippines foreign ministry.The U.S.-Israeli air attacks against Iran expanded on Monday (March 2) with Israel attacking Lebanon in response to strikes by Hezbollah, while Tehran fired missiles and drones at Israel, Gulf states and a British air base in Cyprus.
