Get your taste buds ready for Metro.Style’s very first leg of the Metro Kitchen Series, the ultimate culinary experience for foodies, beginner and avid cooks. Top chefs Sandy Daza, Tatung Sarthou, Robby Goco, and Rolando de Garcia share their very own Spanish recipes at the Atrium of Shangri-La Plaza on Saturday (October 20) at 3 PM.

To kick off the Metro Kitchen Series, these four top chefs will demonstrate delicious Spanish dishes to liven up your family meals and parties. They’ll divulge their cooking tips and recipe secrets, and even let participants sample their dishes.

Chef Sandy Daza is a food writer and host of “Casa Daza” and “FoodPrints” shows on Metro Channel. He also owns the popular Casa Daza and Wooden Spoon restaurants. For something sweet, Chef Sandy fries up everyone’s favorite Spanish Churros, sweet and crispy deep-fried dough, perfect with a cup of thick, rich hot chocolate.

Chef Tatung Sarthou is famous as “Umagang Kay Ganda’s” resident cook. He is also the award-winning author of “Philippine Cookery: From Heart to Platter,” as well as the just-launched “Dishkarte.” Chef Tatung makes a superb Fideua Negra, a Spanish dish reminiscent of paella but using pasta instead of rice, and enriched with squid ink and seafood

Chef Robby Goco is the culinary talent behind such successful concepts as the farm-to-table Green Pastures, Cyma Greek Taverna, and Souv by Cyma. He demonstrates his extra indulgent version of Seafood Paella, this well-loved Spanish rice dish filled with fresh prawns and squid.

Chef Rolando de Garcia is the resident kitchen master of Spanish bistro, Wobbly Pan. He prepares his version of Callos, that traditional Spanish beef stew using tripe cooked till tender in a rich tomato-flavored sauce.

Make sure to drop by the Atrium of the Shangri-La Plaza on October 20 at 3 PM to experience a Spanish feast cooked right before your eyes. The Metro Kitchen Series gives you a taste of what you can read and enjoy online in Metro.Style’s food section—kitchen-tested recipes, cooking tips, fresh chow finds, and insider tips on what to eat, drink, and savor every day of the week.
