May 04, 2018 AT 06:36 PM

Journey back to the tear-jerking story of mother and son, Tessie and Amboy, who are both trying to find their places in each other’s lives, as “Sunday’s Best” features the digitally restored and remastered movie “Batang PX,” where Zsa Zsa Padilla won grand slam for Best Actress, this Sunday (May 6).

The movie, directed by Jose Javier Reyes, tells the story of Tessie (Zsa Zsa), a mother single-handedly raising her son, Amboy (Patrick Garcia). Amidst the love and care she showered him, he still longs for his American soldier father.

“Batang PX” is one of the movies restored by ABS-CBN Film Restoration Group.

Since 2011, ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has been restoring classic films to help preserve Philippine cinematic history. Together with Central Digital Lab, it has become the first restoration effort to be done within the country.

To date, ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has already restored over 120 films, some of which were already screened internationally via film fests, screened locally via red carpet premieres, aired on free-to-air and cable television, viewed via pay-per-view and video-on-demand, distributed on DVD, and downloadable even on iTunes.

Don’t forget to watch “Batang PX” this Sunday (May 6) in “Sunday’s Best,” after “Gandang Gabi Vice” on ABS-CBN or ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167). For updates, follow @abscbnpr on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
