October 05, 2019 AT 10:53 PM

Popular Korean girl group Momoland is now a certified Kapamilya as ABS-CBN signed a groundbreaking partnership with management company MLD Entertainment to co-manage the Korean idols’ career in the Philippines last Friday (October 4).

According to Laurenti Dyogi, the ABS-CBN Head of TV Production, Momoland is a great addition to the Kapamilya network’s powerhouse roster of stars, and Pinoy fans should watch out for huge surprises that await them.

“This is part of ABS-CBN’s going global. You will see Momoland in a lot of our programs, in future collaborations with our artists, and in other projects that will involve our Kapamilya stars, including Star Music and Star magic artists,” said the ABS-CBN executive.

Also present in the signing were ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO for broadcast Cory Vidanes, head of treasury Rick Tan, Star Hunt business unit head Raymund Dizon, head of ABS-CBN Music Roxy Liquigan, and MLD Entertainment official Lee Hyoungjin.

Momoland was formed in the reality-talent show “Finding Momoland” and debuted in 2016. The group became a household name with its hit dance crazes “Bboom Bboom” and “Baam” that gained international fame, including in the Philippines. Only three years in their careers, the all-girl group already bagged numerous awards from various award-giving bodies within and outside of South Korea.
