The Filipino Channel (TFC) in the Middle East was one with the Philippine Consulate and the Filipino Community in Jeddah in making history during the recently concluded “Mabuhay Manila: Sama Saya sa Happy Land sa Jeddah” held at the Atallah Happy Land Park in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mabuhay Manila: Sama Saya sa Happy Land sa Jeddah” is the first-ever major outdoor Filipino festival-concert approved by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), the agency which oversees the entertainment activities in Saudi Arabia to “diversify and enrich entertainment experiences around the Kingdom” as stated on their website.

Before the concert that night started, singer-actor-producer Piolo Pascual (middle, in black long sleeves) and his son  ABS-CBN artist Inigo Pascual (third from left) had the chance to meet some of the people behind the event: (L-R ) ABS-CBN Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Managing Director Joseph Arnie Garcia, Atallah Happy Land Park Operations Manager Nidal Al Andari, Consul Mary Jenniffer Dingal, Consul General Edgar Badajos, Saudi Brothers Head of Hospitality and Entertainment Nabil Shaban, and Vice-Consul Alfred Kristoffer Guiang.

“We are honored to be part of this historic Filipino event, and we thank the Philippine Consulate and the Filipino Community in Jeddah for giving us this opportunity to work with them in making history in Saudi Arabia. It is also interesting to note that ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel has the full support of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) in bringing more artists closer to our kababayans in the coming months and years,” said ABS-CBN Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Managing Director Joseph Arnie Garcia.

Saudi Brothers’ (the holding company of Atallah Happy Land) HR and Public Relations Manager, Hany Samargandi (left) and ABS-CBN Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Managing Director Joseph Arnie Garcia signed a contract for the use of the Atallah Happy Land Park as venue for the historic Filipino event in Jeddah, the "Mabuhay Manila Sama Saya sa Happy Land sa Jeddah".

Aside from the concert, the event-goers also enjoyed a delectable variety of Filipino foods featured in the different booths around the venue, which literally gave non-Filipinos a taste of the Philippine cuisines.
