UAAP Football Final Four set to heat up ABS-CBN S+A and iWant Sports

Defending champions UP face DLSU…

The Rizal Memorial Coliseum pitch will be blazing hot with football action this Thursday (May 9) when ABS-CBN S+A and iWant Sports bring to you LIVE the Final Four matches in the ongoing UAAP Men’s Football Tournament starting at 2 pm.

Defending champion and second seeded University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons take to the field first against the third-seeded De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Booters at 2 pm. Meanwhile, top-seeded Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles look to pick off the Far Eastern University Tamaraws at 4 pm in the main event.

Ateneo started the season in rocky fashion before the football phenom Jarvey Gayoso kicked into higher gear to tow the Blue Eagles at the top of the standings and finish with an 8-2-4 win-draw-loss card to leapfrog over erstwhile leader FEU. The Tamaraws got the short end of the stick as they dropped critical matches against UP and DLSU in succession, to end the eliminations round with the fourth seed.

The UP Fighting Maroons, on the other hand, needed a surge towards the end of the season to secure a Final Four slot behind the exploits of JB Borlongan and Kintaro Miyagi, beating FEU in dramatic fashion to move up to third. The defending champions then locked up the second seed when DLSU rookie midfielder Xavier Zubiri dealt the Tamaraws another blow in their following assignment.

Football fans can expect an all-out war on the pitch as FEU and DLSU look to stave off elimination and another UP-Ateneo Final, this coming Thursday (May 9).

Don’t miss the scintillating action on the pitch as ABS-CBN Sports airs the UAAP Men’s Football Final Four matches LIVE on S+A, S+A HD, LIGA, LIGA HD, with streaming available at sports.abs-cbn.com and iWant Sports this Thursday (May 9). UP-DLSU opens the broadcast at 2 pm followed by the tussle between Ateneo and FEU at 4 pm.
