These Asian comedies will make staying home on a Friday night extra fun

June 19, 2019 AT 03:01 PM

Choose to stay home on the last two Fridays of June as SKYcable brings two fun family movies courtesy of Red by HBO, HBO’s all-Asian movie channel.

A brother likes to make a fool of his sister every day in “Go Brother,” a comedy starring Wendy Zhang (Shi Miao) and Peng Yu Chang (Chi Fen) and set to air on June 21 (10 pm).

Shi Miao sometimes wishes her brother Shi Fen would just disappear forever that even on her birthday, it’s also the one thing she wishes for.  When her wish suddenly comes true, Chi Fen becomes her best friend's brother. She feels sorry for her best friend but she is also happy to be finally free from her annoying sibling. It doesn’t take long before Shi Miao discovers a secret her brother has been carrying.

In “Fat Buddies,” which airs on June 28 (10 pm), two agents must overcome hurdles as they investigate a new drug cartel, including the challenges that being fat brings.

Super agent Jia Bangde is initially sent on the crucial mission. But having been seriously wounded and turning amnesiac, he wakes up in the hospital as a super fat man and meets another fat cop, Hao Yingjun. Together, the two search for clues and eventually develop a deep friendship.
