Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2020 airs on Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live

Twenty-four young and passionate men and women determined to make a mark as ambassadors of the Filipino-Chinese community are set to make a big splash at this year’s Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines (MMCP), which will be aired and streamed live on Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live, respectively, on October 18 (Sunday).

This year’s pageant features new changes in its format, as it will be held online for the first time because of the pandemic.

With the limitations, the organizers are replacing the traditional press presentation, cultural costume parade, and talent competition, with three virtual challenges designed to bring out the best in each of the 24 delegates in tree aspects—confidence, creativity and culture. The confidence challenge was held at the digital press presentation of the candidates where they were asked to give casual interviews, press interviews, and engage in a spoken showdown.

Contestants Don Tang, Alexi Enriquez and Julianne Yap won the Winners Circle’s Choice Award, while Beef Co and Cassandra Chan shared the Darlings of the Press Award.

The candidates were able to finish two more challenges that ended last October 11 (Sunday).

Witness the first MMCP online coronation on Sunday, which audiences can stream via Kapamilya Online Live from 11 AM to 12 PM and Kapamilya Channel from 10:45 PM to 11:45 PM.

The Mr. & Miss Chinatown PH, a project by the Miss Chinatown Foundation, Inc. and Fil-Chi Media Productions Inc. (Chinoy TV), aims to empower modern Chinese young men and women in their roles as proactive agents of social change and exemplary models of Chinese values and culture in the modern age.
