Star Music bags over 60 nominations in 2021 PMPC Star Awards for Music

ABS-CBN’s Star Music is primed to dominate the 2021 PMPC Star Awards for Music with over 60 nominations, including multiple nods for Kapamilya artists like Daniel Padilla, Moira dela Torre, KZ Tandingan, and Inigo Pascual.

ABS-CBN’s Star Music is primed to dominate the 2021 PMPC Star Awards for Music with over 60 nominations, including multiple nods for Kapamilya artists like Daniel Padilla, Moira dela Torre, KZ Tandingan, and Inigo Pascual.
 
Daniel and Moira are nominated for Male Recording Artist of the Year and Female Recording Artist of the Year, respectively, for their performance in the song “Mabagal,” which is also nominated for Collaboration of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year.
 
Moira received another nomination for Song of the Year for her song “Patawad, Paalam” with I Belong to the Zoo, as well as Female Concert Artist of the Year for “Braver.” Produced by ABS-CBN’s Star Events and Cornerstone Entertainment, the show is also a finalist for Concert of the Year.
 
KZ Tandingan also received multiple nominations including Female Recording Artist of the Year and Female R&B Artist of the Year for “Halik sa Hangin,” Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year with Shanti Dope for their song “Imposible,” and Revival Recording of the Year for “Ako’y Sa‘yo, Ika’y Akin Lamang.”
 
Inigo, meanwhile, is up for Male Pop Artist of the Year and Revival Recording of the Year for “Next In Line,” and Dance Recording of the Year for “Adios.”
 
Also receiving more than one nomination are Agsunta (Song of the Year, Rock Album of the Year), Angeline Quinto (Concert of the Year, Female Concert Artist of the Year), Jake Zyrus (Album of the Year, R&B Album of the Year), Jem Macatuno (New Male Recording Artist of the Year, Male Acoustic Artist of the Year), and Zephanie (Revival Recording of the Year, New Female Recording Artist of the Year).
 
Alex Gonzaga, Cool Cat Ash, and Blanktape are all double nominees for Novelty Song of the Year and Novelty Artist of the Year. Blanktape also got a Rap Artist of the Year nod alongside fellow Star Music artists Arvey, Kritiko, and Shanti Dope.
 
Other ABS-CBN nominees include Himig Handog 2019 for Album of the Year, John Rendez and Sam Mangubat for Male Recording Artist of the Year, Ang Soundtrack ng Buhay Mo, Ikaw ang Melody – MNL48, and Lara Maigue’s self-titled album for Pop Album of the Year, Klarisse de Guzman for Female Pop Artist of the Year, and The Company for Duo/Group Artist of the Year.
 
KD Estrada, Lance Busa, and Lucas Garcia are all nominated for New Male Recording Artist of the Year, while Eamarie Gilayo, Princess Sevillena, and Trisha Denise are up for the New Female Recording Artist of the Year.
 
Star Music’s Chiquerella, Hulo, Jose Carlito, and Three Two One are all vying for New Group Artist of the Year, as Jeremy Glinoga and Jayda Avanzado get nominated for Collaboration of the Year, and Ianna Dela Torre for Dance Recording of the Year.
 
Yeng Constantino and Yonin High are both nominated for Rock Artist of the Year, Justine Vasquez and Young JV are up for Male R&B Artist of the Year, while Alekzandra and Davey Langit are competing for the Female Acoustic Artist of the Year and Folk/Country Recording of the Year, respectively.  
 
Star Music also has four nominees in the Compilation Album of the Year: Budots Version Non Stop, Gold Squad Album, Himig Handog 2019, and Idol Philippines.
 
Committed to champion the talent of Filipinos, Star Music has nominees in almost all categories in this year’s Star Awards for Music. The Philippine Movie Press Club, the group behind the award-giving body, will soon announce details on the virtual awarding ceremony.
