Dalawa sa kilalang songwriting institution sa Pilipinas ang nagsama ngayon sa bigating proyekto na makakatulong sa bagong henerasyon na nagnanais pasukin ang industriya ng musika.
Mula sa PhilPop Musicfest Foundation at Himig Handog ang PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival na isang pangmalakasang mentorship program na may layuning maghatid ng export-ready Pinoy music sa global market.
May temang #MusicBreakingBorders2.0, magsisimula ang PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival sa two-month digital program na dinisenyo para mahinang ang mga galing ng aspiring participants at matuto sila mula sa world-class mentors sa linya ng songwriting, music arrangement at recording, branding, marketing, career development, at intellectual property.
Mula sa mga nagnanais sumali, 25 ang magiging sponsored fellow o tig-5 mula sa Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, Metro Manila at overseas; 10 naman ang pipiliin ng SMART; at may 30 na pipiliin mula sa roster ng applicants.
Ang Digicamp series na pagsasamahin ang workshop-based training at intensive online lectures ay magtatapos sa isang session na mag-eengganyo sa participants na sumulat at gumawa ng musika na kanilang magiging festival entry. Magkakaroon din sila ng special access sa eksklusibong PhilPop DigiCamp Content, at training at development kasama ang kilalang OPM songwriters at music professionals.
Pagkatapos ng songwriting sessions at pagsumite ng final output, 10 entry ang makakasama sa final round na may pagkakataon na maiprodyus at malunsad bilang bahagi ng competition catalog. Sa pagtatapos ng PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival, magwawagi ang Top 3 ng PHP 1,000,000.00 (1
st place); PHP 500,000.00 (2
nd place); at PHP 200,000.00 (3
rd place).

Ang PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival ay hatid ng Himig Handog at PhilPop Music Foundation. Nakatakdang maghatid ng innovation sa paggawa at pagsulat ng musika ayon sa international standards ang proyektong ito na co-presented ng Maynilad, Smart Communications, Inc., at TuneCore.

- Click the "Apply Now" found at the Home Page.
- Read the mechanics carefully.
- Accomplish the form.
- Make sure to have all the necessary supporting documents.
- Be sure to submit 2 original songs with lyrics.
- Submit your application and wait for Himig Handog and PhilPop to announce the results.
Other pertinent information regarding submission:
- There is no preferred genre and no time limit in the submitted song. Applicants are encouraged to submit their best songs.
- Songwriters may submit a song that is not in English or Tagalog. However, an English/Tagalog translation is required for the song
- If applicant is an overseas songwriter, they can apply normally but they have to provide proof that he/she is a Filipino citizen through submitted documents.
