This partnership between TFC and the San Diego Filipino Cinema brings about a new block of content that features short films of different genres created by a fresh batch of Filipino independent filmmakers and storytellers who bring to life important global issues, while showcasing Filipino creativity onscreen. From the captivating romance of "Who to Love" by Rommel Andaya; to the inspiring mentorship that ends in a toxic relationship in "Velvet Sky" by Charles Gray; the exploration of familial ties in "Ugnayan" by Erica Olavario; the unexpected outcome when a mother and son decide to do something special for their ailing nanny in "Little Manila" by Arthur Rodger Maranan; supernatural abilities unlocked due to an amulet in "Animo" by Raymund Encanto Salao; to how the act of searching for a missing ingredient leads to a discovery about the power of love and kindness in Melissa Jane Rodriguez’ “Sinigang.” Don't miss out on the insightful documentary about a 40-year-old indigenous man who enrolls in first grade to learn how to read and to write in "A is for Agustin" by Grace Simbulan.
