MONROE, WASHINGTON - A 42-year-old man from Monroe, Washington was arrested and charged for allegedly plotting the murder of his Filipina wife and daughter for insurance money.

A probable cause synopsis document sent to ABS-CBN News by Snohomish County Prosecuting Office showed that Jeffery Lytle sent a text message to someone named “Shayne” that allegedly greenlighted the murder of Rhoda Mee Funtanilla Lytle, his wife of more than 6 years, and their 4-year-old daughter.

Jeffery also mentioned that his wife’s life insurance is worth $1 million and if Shayne wanted a bonus he can also kill their daughter whose life insurance is worth half a million dollars ($500,000).

The unintended recipient, Robert Alexander, Lytle’s former employer immediately called 911 and reported the seemingly “murder-for-hire” text to the police, according to the synopsis.

Jeffery was arrested and charged last Wednesday with domestic violence and two counts of criminal solicitation for murder in the first degree.

The report also said that when deputies called Rhoda Mee at work, she did confirm that she has been married to Jeffery since 2010 and resided in the same home.
