Authorities have banned all gatherings involving more than 10 people in public places both indoors and outdoors. Those who will violate will be fined 1,500 DKK or about P11,300. Non-essential businesses were closed down in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19, which has so far infected 1,057 and killed 4 in the country as of press time.Most businesses were ordered to close down from March 18 until March 30, except for supermarkets and pharmacies, while restaurants were allowed only to serve takeaway. Schools were also ordered shut, while public offices, except for frontline services, stopped work. Filipino businesses in the country have been adjusting to restrictions, from offering discounts to delivery services. Thrilla in Manila, a Filipino café bar &amp; restaurant in Copenhagen has closed its seating, cancelling all bookings in compliance with the government’s extreme measure to control COVID-19. “It’s hard and we’re trying to survive. We are doing all the marketing we can to get the takeaway going. Since we have a lot of people asking for their areas to be covered then we’re trying to gather as many orders as possible in that area. But we’re blessed that it’s actually our customers who’s sharing and telling their friends about us,” said Thrilla in Manila owners Carmelita and Alfie Escabarte. Tea:licious café, a bubble tea lounge, owned by Filipino couple Shai and Richard Tulop, were also hit by the crisis and decided to close the café temporarily. “For now, we run a 15 percent discount promo where people can purchase their bubble tea while we’re closed and they can use it as soon as we open after this COVID-19 restriction. In that way, we still have at least some little sales even if we’re closed,” said Shai Tulop. Asian grocery stores were exempt from the temporary shutdown of business but were required to enforce social distancing among shoppers and provide hand sanitizers in store. Sandra Nagano Liengaard, owner of Shop-VSS Dk, a Filipino Asian grocery store, promotes her goods via Facebook live and also through her web shop. Chin Fernandez, owner of Chindahan, a one-stop Filipino shop, now offers delivery to some customers who are unable to go out. “Actually, hindi ko ginagawa (delivery) before pero nag-offer na ako para sa iba na natatakot lumabas, so nagbigay ako ng alternative kung gusto nila magpa-deliver,” said Chin.(I didn&#x27;t have delivery service before but for those who are afraid to go out, I gave them the alternative.) “Sa social distancing, hindi ako gaanong nakikipag-interact ngayon, dapat may distansya talaga and I make sure na gagamit ng hand sanitizer ang mga customers dito sa loob ng tindahan,” she added. (As for social distancing, I don&#x27;t interact much, there should be distance and I make sure that customers inside the store use hand sanitizers.)
