Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA - A 26-year-old Filipino woman who was doused with boiling water by her employer in Saudi Arabia finally returned to the Philippines Friday.Fahima Alagasi arrived at the NAIA Terminal 1 with Ambassador Adnan Alonto. She was welcomed by Overseas Workers Welfare Administration head Hans Leo Cacdac and other officials.Alagasi is set to meet Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano and President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City tomorrow, Saturday. The government vowed to provide assistance to Alagasi, including an OWWA scholarship for her children.The Filipina was only 22 when she flew to Riyadh in 2014 to work as a maid. That year, she dropped the lid of a thermos while preparing coffee for her employer.Annoyed, her boss seized the thermos and poured all its boiling contents on her back.Alagasi suffered second-degree burns on her neck, a large part of her back, and on her thighs. She reeled in pain unattended for 3 hours before her employer allowed her to seek treatment.She ran away from her employer while getting treatment at a hospital and sought refuge at a shelter run by the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh.The Filipina was able to file a complaint against her employer, but her boss filed counter-charges. The case she filed was scrapped by a Saudi court.Last March, Duterte met with Saudi Arabian prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif in Malacañang. ACTS-OFW party-list Rep. Aniceto Bertiz III said the President brought up the case of Alagasi.Alagasi is just one of the nearly a million Filipinos working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.--report from Zhander Cayabyab, ABS-CBN News
