MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said he threatened the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that he will stop the deployment of Filipino workers in the Gulf state should they execute Filipino Jennifer Dalquez for the death of her employer.

“She was spared sabi ko, kasi 'p***** i** bitayin nyo iyan, I will order immediately the suspension of deployment,'” Duterte said during a Cabinet meeting Tuesday night in Malacañang.

Duterte said he sent Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration chief Hans Leo Cacdac to Abu Dhabi to talk to officials there regarding the case of Dalquez.

The Labor secretary said he relayed to Duterte’s message to UAE officials.

“After that, two months after na kinomute ang sentence niya to only 3 years,” Bello said.

“What I’m trying to say is kung hindi ka magput*** i** walang mangyayari sa bayang ito,” Duterte added, saying that UAE officials even invited him to visit their country.

Duterte on Tuesday met Dalquez in Malacañang.

Dalquez went home to her family in the Philippines last Thursday after serving 4 years in prison.
