the victim as 18-year-old Alaina Housley, a freshman in Pepperdine University.</p><p>Her mother was identified as Hannah Punzalan Housley, according to Balitang America.</p><p>Alaina was a niece of Hollywood actress Tamera Mowry-Housley.</p><p>&quot;Our hearts are broken. We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night’s shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks,&quot; said a statement issued to USA TODAY on behalf of Mowry-Housley and her husband, former Fox News correspondent Adam Housley.</p><p>&quot;Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner. There was no known motive, he said.</p><p>&quot;Obviously he had something going on in his head that would cause him to do something like this,&quot; Dean said. &quot;Obviously he had some sort of issues.&quot;</p><p>Long was in the Marine Corps from 2008 to 2013, reaching the rank of corporal, and served as a machine gunner who was deployed to Afghanistan for 8 months. Dean said it was possible that Long had suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.</p><p>The bar shooting was the latest mass killing in the United States and was sure to revive the debate on gun control. Less than 2 weeks ago 11 worshippers at a synagogue in Pittsburgh were killed by a man shouting &quot;All Jews must die.&quot; <strong>- with report from Reuters</strong></p>
