15 shocking scenes that made us hate Tirso Cruz III as Jaime in “Pamilya Sagrado”

Veteran actor Tirso Cruz III has portrayed a variety of roles throughout his decades-long career, the majority of which are as kontrabidas, including his latest stint in “Pamilya Sagrado,” wherein he compels us with his performance as Jaime Sagrado, the domineering, wicked, manipulative, and ruthless patriarch of the titular family.

And in this edition of Kapamilya Toplist, let us revisit the 15 appalling and disturbing scenes in the series that exposed Jaime's despicability and made us hate him so much.

As we all know, Jaime is the one who leads the Sagrado clan, being its oldest member. He has been controlling them in every way, from their personal lives to their political activities, in an effort to maintain their family's authority and influence not just in their community but also across the nation.

He didn't allow anyone to stand in the way of his nephew Rafael Sagrado's (Piolo Pascual) great potential, not even his wife Mercedes (Mylene Dizon). For them to become successful in their political endeavors, he planned to use their engagement to kick off Rafael's campaign period, as well as threatened Mercedes to reveal her sinister secrets if she wouldn't stop interfering with his plans for her husband.

In one of his heated arguments with his younger brother, Eleazar (John Arcilla), Jaime wasn’t able to keep his cool and stabbed him on chest. It was after Eleazar warned him about being the one to go down in their battle, as well as holding him responsible for endangering the life of the republic's president. Moises (Kyle Echarri) hastily came to Eleazar’s rescue, only to be struck by Jaime hard on the head that left him unconscious.

Since there was only the three of them inside the room when that happened, it was easy for Jaime to turn the situation around and make Moises the suspect by ordering Eric (Polo Ravales), the leader of the presidential security group, to claim that the poor young man was the one who tried to kill Eleazar. Jaime saw it as a chance to accomplish two goals at once, since they would imprison Moises in addition to getting rid of his younger brother. Jaime's evil deeds against Moises didn't stop there; he also hired another to kill him while he was still behind bars.

While Divine (Aiko Melendez) voiced her concerns about Eleazar telling the truth to the media, Jaime was confident that it wouldn't happen because they had previously gotten out of trouble a number of times through her help and expertise. He reminded her, “Hindi ka papayag na mangyari ‘yon dahil isa ka na sa amin. Kapamilya ka na. And you know very well that if one of us falls down, everybody falls down.”

Unfortunately for him, Eleazar was able to survive. Thus, Jaime decided to retaliate against him by taking his beloved unica hija Danica (Micaela Santos) away from him, which resulted to another intense altercation between them. Instead of giving in to Eleazar’s demand for his daughter to be given back to him, Jaime remained adamant about their reunion and even threatened to kill her.

From always looking after his welfare and reputation, Jaime eventually became Rafael’s greatest nemesis as the latter opted to betray him and turn his back at him. Due to their incessant battle and his yearning for power, a lot of lives became a collateral damage, including his most trusted henchmen whom he fired from their jobs by literally firing at them fatally.

As he and his grandson Justin (Grae Fernandez) took ahold of Moises, they revealed to him that he’s also a “Sagrado” since he’s the son of Rafael to his past paramour, Cristine (Bela Padilla). However, they lied to him by telling that it was Rafael who ordered the murder of his mother since their illicit affair would jeopardize his mayoralty bid at the time. Avid viewers knew that it was Mercedes who was really the suspect, yet Jaime chose to hide the truth in order to not taint their family’s reputation.

And lastly, just when we thought the Malonzos finally had the chance to avenge the death of Cristine when Estong (Joel Torre) took Jaime as hostage in one of their encounters, viewers and the former’s loved ones alike were absolutely horrified as we witnessed his bloody death. It was after Jaime stabbed Estong in the chest with his katana, which he hides inside his wooden cane, and then slashed him on the neck that led to his demise.
