Lines from “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” that are impossible to forget

Besides its addicting story and star-studded cast, “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” has captured viewers with its epic lines. The whole experience of watching the series won’t be complete if you have not been amused by the characters’ “linyahan,” especially those signature catchphrase.

The teleserye might be ending in a few days, but these dialogues will be impossible to erase from our minds.

Elisse Joson added sparkling flavors to the series as the ‘jologs’ yet fierce Hilary. Part of our amusement is seeing Elisse unleash a different side of her. We mean, we didn’t know she can be this funny, so much so that some of her dialogues trended on social media. There was one scene of Hilary meeting up with a customer, asking him in thick Pinoy accent, “Ar yu redi to hab pan?”

She also knows how to own a scene by adding her mark on it through her signature expression, “Perpek!”

You know that feeling when a teleserye character resonates with you and their line touches deep within your soul? Angela/Beth, played by Alexa Ilacad, delivered realistic anguish and some life lessons on the side when she rejected Diana (Charlie Dizon)’s apology for their tragic past, “Ano, panay pera?! None of your stupid money can ever change the past.”

“Clap, clap, clap!” will forever be iconic, and the credit goes to veteran actress Snooky Serna, who plays the villain Judge Jacinda Sebastian. In real life, we’re used to hearing this one-liner delivered in the most cheery way possible (as clapping is associated with celebrations) until Jacinda made it her own. She either fuses it with sarcasm or say it with full-blown rage that she sounds like a fire-breathing dragoness.

A worthy opponent of Jacinda came in the person of Amanda Barrameda (Maricel Soriano) the grandmother of the Paraiso sisters on whom she’s been extremely hating. There was a scene where Jacinda spitted out threats at Amanda, who didn’t even flinch, “Hindi ako natatakot sa’yo, Judge Jacinda. Ha, ha, ha!”

It seems Judge Jacinda has a penchant for repeating words to emphasize her ‘gigil’. Remember that scene where she dodged Elon (KD Estrada)’s question about her alleged involvement in a journalist’s death? When asked if she truly terrorized some reporters in the past, Jacinda replied, “No! No! No! No! Ilang ‘no’ ba ang gusto mong sabihin ko sa’yo para maniwala ka?”

Kontrabidas will truly never go out of style, especially those who can come up with exciting catchphrases. Joining the second season as Criselda, the syndicate leader bent on destroying the Paraiso sisters due to an embittered past, Rosanna Roces was both scary an exciting to watch. Whenever she’s unsatisfied with her minions’ performance, she’d send shivers down their spine by asking them, “Kaya pa ba?”

There were also lines form the series that melted the coldest of hearts. One of the most ‘kilig’ was from Elon’s speech during her marriage proposal to Beth: “I want to be the man that you deserve. And I hope, today, I am that man.”

As the mother figure to Baby (Loisa Andalio), Kano (Markus Paterson), and Hilary, ‘momshie’ Osang (Sunshine Dizon) shared some relatable quotes as well. In one scene, she told Baby to manage her expectations to save herself from heartbreaks. “Huwag ka nang umaasa para hindi ka nasasaktan... Huwag ka nang nagbibilang ng wala kasi ang importante ay ‘yung nasa harapan mo, kasi ‘yun ang totoo.”
