<p>The groundbreaking teleserye “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/paraiso2023" target="_blank"><em><strong><u>Pira-Pirasong Paraiso</u></strong></em></a>” was definitely worth watching. Each episode was packed with storytelling that kept us on the edge of our seats trying to discover clues and build theories, plus the ensemble cast’s acting that deserves a standing ovation.</p><p>It was able to transcend the label of being just another afternoon family drama. As it also explored the tropes of human relationships and dark angles of humanity, it left viewers with so much more.</p><p>Here are life lessons that we picked up from the trending series.</p><div> </div><div><strong>We reap what we sow</strong></div><p>“Ang galit mo ang pumatay sa anak mo. Ang galit mo ang naghiwalay sa pamilya natin... Nabulag ka sa paghihiganti mo,”Elon (KD Estrada) lashed out at his mom, Jacinda (Snooky Serna). Yup! Karma hits really hard. Pinili ko na pagsisihan ang mga kasalanan ko.” Despite her dark past working for a syndicate that caused the separation of the Paraiso sisters, Osang (Sunshine Dizon) realized she still had time to change her path. Defying her husband Badong (Epy Quizon)’s revenge plans to commit to making their mistakes right was truly a tough move. Yet, she chose what she deemed right, and embraced all the consequences. Carlota (Nikki Valdez), the adopted aunt of the Paraiso sisters, came to the Philippines full of rage over her nieces. She felt embittered to the point of accusing her nieces of killing their matriarch, Amanda (Maricel Soriano). Her nieces suffered from the brunt of her ire until they all discovered that someone was playing with their family, who was none other than Carlota’s lawyer-boyfriend, Raffy (Rafa Siguion-Reyna).</p><p>Just as she was able to trigger our hate, Carlota also tapped into our sympathy when she humbly reconciled with her nieces. As she and the Paraiso sisters broke down into beautiful tears in their heartwarming scene of forgiveness, she taught viewers the importance of repentance in healing and setting the heart free. However, a life-or-death situation softened her heart and made her realize she couldn’t let the past repeat itself by doing nothing while her sister was in danger. Beth finally acknowledging Diana as her sister taught us that forgiveness is not just an act of kindness but it really helps a person move on in life.
