As if life is not difficult already after severe tropical storm Kristine&#x27;s onslaught, residents of Laurel, Batangas now have to cope with the tons of debris and mud deposited on the graves of their departed loved ones.But this did not prevent the people from visiting the Laurel Public Cemetery on All Saints&#x27; Day on Friday.Visitors had to cross the thick mud that had already solidified and weave through piles of tree trunks and debris spread across the cemetery. Upon reaching the graves, they then had to use shovels, pick axes and whatever tools available to them to dig the thick mud surrounding the tombs.Kristine made landfall on October 24 in Isabela, Cagayan but not before barreling its way from Bicol to Northern Luzon leaving a trail of devastation.In Batangas, one of the hardest-hit provinces, at least 59 were killed mostly by rain-induced landslides, while around 3,000 families or 11,000 individuals still remain in evacuation shelters because of the damage to their community and houses.The reported death toll from the combined effects of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Super Typhoon Leon has risen to 150, with 115 people injured and 29 individuals still missing, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
