'Aghon' makes another landfall in Marinduque

(UPDATED) Tropical depression Aghon continued to move northwestward and made another landfall in Marinduque, state weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday night.

The weather bureau said in its 11 pm update that the weather disturbance was last spotted in Torrijos, Marinduque at 10 p.m. with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 75 kph.

Aghon is moving northwestward at 15 kph, bringing strong winds that extend outwards up to 200 km from the center.

Prior to its arrival in Marinduque, Aghon also had landfalls in Homonhon Island and Giporlos in Eastern Samar; Basiao and Cagduyong Island in Catbalogan, Samar; Batuan in Masbate; and Masbate City.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains up in the following areas of Luzon:

The southeastern portion of Isabela (Palanan, Dinapigue), the southern portion of Quirino (Maddela, Nagtipunan), the southern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castaneda), the eastern and southern portions of Nueva Ecija (General Tinio, Gabaldon, Bongabon, Pantabangan, Rizal, General Mamerto Natividad, Laur, Palayan City, Peñaranda, San Leonardo, City of Gapan, Cabanatuan City, Santa Rosa, San Isidro, Cabiao, San Antonio, Jaen), Aurora, the eastern portion of Pampanga (Candaba, San Luis, San Simon, Apalit, Santa Ana, Arayat), Bulacan, Metro Manila, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, the eastern portion of Batangas (Lobo, Taysan, Rosario, Padre Garcia, San Juan, Santo Tomas, Batangas City, Tingloy, Bauan, San Luis, Mabini, San Pascual, San Jose, Ibaan, Lipa City, Mataasnakahoy, Balete, Malvar, Calaca, Cuenca, Talisay, Agoncillo, Lemery, City of Tanauan, Alitagtag, San Nicolas, Laurel, Santa Teresita, Taal), the northern portion of Oriental Mindoro (Pinamalayan, Pola, Naujan, Victoria, Socorro, City of Calapan, Bansud, Gloria, Baco, San Teodoro, Puerto Galera, Bongabong, Roxas), portions of Occidental Mindoro (Sablayan, Abra de Ilog), Marinduque, Romblon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Burias Island

PAGASA said Aghon is expected to move northwestward or north northwestward and make another landfall in mainland Quezon in the next 12 hours. 

Beginning Sunday, the tropical depression will begin turning north northeastward and is anticipated to emerge over the waters east of Aurora by Sunday afternoon or evening. 

Aghon may leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday.

Meanwhile, PAGASA has issued a red rainfall warning in the province of Quezon where flooding is expected in prone areas.

It also issued a yellow warning in Rizal, Metro Manila, Laguna and Batangas. This also means possible flooding in said areas.

Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains affecting Bulacan, Cavite, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales which may persist within three hours.
