<div><span dir="ltr" id="isPasted">DAVAO — A total of 21 firearms owned by a village chief in Davao City, who is a co-accused of controversial televangelist Apollo Quiboloy, were surrendered to the authorities on Saturday morning.</span><span dir="ltr"></span></div><div><span dir="ltr">The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said it successfully facilitated the surrender of Cresente Canada&#x27;s firearms, through its flagship program “Oplan Paglalansag Omega”.</span></div><div><span dir="ltr">The turnover of firearms was done at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Buhangin, Davao City.</span></div><div><span dir="ltr"><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/5/14/authorities-continue-to-negotiate-with-quiboloy-camp-for-surrender-1434" id="isPasted">READ: Authorities continue to negotiate with Quiboloy camp for surrender</a></span></div><div><span dir="ltr"></span><span dir="ltr">Canada is the village chief of Barangay Tamayong, where the KOJC Prayer Mountain and Glory Mountain are located. He is also among the co-accused in Quiboloy&#x27;s child abuse and human trafficking raps.<br/><br/>PNP-CIDG said Quiboloy&#x27;s legal counsel Atty. Depending on license type, a civilian can as many as 15 firearms.</p><div style="margin-bottom:0px;line-height:normal"><br/></div><p style="margin-bottom:0px;line-height:normal">Collectors, a separate license type, can own more than 15.</p><div><span dir="ltr"><br/>&quot;This act is made in order to show good faith that Barangay Captain Canada and the leaders of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name have no intention to use violence as a means to further their lawful and Godly objectives,&quot; Torreon said in his Facebook post.<br/><br/>&quot;Barangay Captain Cresente Canada is a licensed sports gun collector yet he has chosen to entrust his guns to police authorities if only to dispel vicious rumours that he is using his guns to protect Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy,&quot; he added.<br/><br/>Authorities have not yet located or arrested Quiboloy.</span></div>
