The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has seized what is believed to be 10.5 kilograms of kush or high-grade marijuana in the Port of Clark, Pampanga, the agency said on Friday.

In a statement on Friday, the BOC said the kush were concealed in two pieces of a one-seater sofa.

The shipment arrived on Aug. 6, according to the agency.

“It was marked for inspection by BOC’s X-ray Inspection Project after revealing unusual images. A K-9 sniff test also indicated the presence of illegal substances,” the BOC statement read.

During the inspection, authorities discovered 23 transparent plastic sachets of dried leaves suspected to be kush.

“Samples were then taken and turned over to PDEA for chemical laboratory analysis, which confirmed that the said substances were indeed marijuana, a dangerous drug under RA No. 9165,” BOC said.

A warrant of seizure and detention has been issued for the shipment.
