Julian has intensified into a super typhoon and is now moving near the boundary of the Philippine area of responsibility, weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.

At 4 a.m. Tuesday, Super Typhoon Julian was located 205 km west of Itbayat, Batanes, packing winds of 185 kph and gusts reaching up to 230 kph. It is moving west northwestward.
