10 times Sky and Tanya clashed in “Senior High”

When harsh elements like grief and differences infiltrate a home, the connection between family members becomes complicated, so much so peace turns into an insatiable hunger.

This describes Tanya (Angel Aquino) and daughter Sky (Andrea Brillantes)’s relationship. It’s magnificently real, yet cruel and thoughtless at times, as shown in this Kapamilya Toplist of scenes from Senior High.

The two are often caught in intense arguments. One of those is their extremely organic exchange as Sky moves to the city after the death of Tanya’s mom, who acted as Sky’s guardian in the province. Tanya erupted in bitterness and frustration as she learned about her own mother’s disapproval of how she lives her life, but Sky couldn’t care less. She spoke her mind and only paused upon seeing her mother’s pitiful situation.

Besides their differences, the case of Luna’s alleged suicide pushes them to lock horns. Sky is determined to investigate and prove a foul play, while Tanya, for some reason, opts to accept Luna’s fate. Tanya would tell Sky to shut up and focus on her studies instead, saying that her fighting spirit would only lead her to trouble. She has many times pressed that the rich and influential people in Sky’s school, Northford High, are dangerous enemies.

Then again, no amount of threats could wane Sky’s thirst for justice. Thus, her belief that Tanya doesn’t care enough about Luna would spark deep misunderstanding. A leaked video of Z (Daniela Stranner) bullying Luna would further intensify Sky’s determination to prove her hunches. When asked if she was the culprit behind the leakage, Sky maintained her innocence, which Tanya didn’t buy at first.

Another round of mother-daughter clash happened when Tanya failed to meet Sky on time due to a road mishap. Sky believed that Tanya cared more about her old car than her own daughter. The conversation continued. Sky mentioned that people are suggesting Tanya open the case about Luna’s death, which of course, sounds like a terrible idea to Tanya. The latter burst into tears of frustration, which Sky takes as a sign of weakness. She insisted that her mom couldn’t just sit and cry and do nothing. This was after Tanya dismissed Lydia (Sylvia Sanchez)’s confession that she saw a mystery person lurking when Luna fell off the building.

Sky looks at justice as making sure the criminals get their punishment. However, to Tanya, justice is moving forward and living a peaceful, quiet life. These contrasting viewpoints unbolt a series of verbal fights. Add to that, Sky couldn’t comprehend Tanya’s decisions, such as entering a romantic relationship with Brandon (Kean Cipriano) and her silence when asked about her past with Harry (Baron Geisler).
