The cast members of “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/seniorhigh2023">Senior High</a>” are like real campus kids just enjoying the best season of their lives as a barkada. There’s no doubt about it, the “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/seniorhigh2023">Senior High</a>” stars are BFFs off-cam, so much so that they already know each other’s childhood story. The cast of the mystery drama may be arguably the closest-knit group of actors right now, redefining BFF goals as they show what it’s like to have fun while working. Know more about their off-cam dynamic as Kyle Echarri, Elijah Canlas, Tommy Alejandrino, and Gela Atayde take on Kapamilya Chat’s “Bukingan Challenge.”Here, they’d reveal who’s who among the cast, starting off with the co-star who is “madaling matawa.” Daniela Stranner might be perennially miffed and serious as the ‘kontrabida’ Z, but she’s naturally jolly in real life. “Mababaw lang kaligayahan niya,” as Elijah puts it, adding that he avoids looking at Daniela before take as he might make her laugh, “’Pag kailangan niya kumarga, kailangan ko tumalikod sa kanya kasi natatawa siya sa akin talaga. Natatawa siya sa aming lahat.” The same goes with Zaijian Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat, who play a young couple in the story, “Magtititigan lang sila, matatawa na.” The comedian of the group is JK Labajo. “We love JK,” they said almost in unison. The trio of JK, Kyle, and Elijah are voted as pinakamakulit sa waiting area. They also said that everyone is friendly with the production crew. As for the most introverted member of the gang, they thought of Zaijian, who is often asleep on set. But he can be makulit too, “’Pag trip niya, siya din pinaka maingay,” Kyle revealed. And speaking of tulog sa set, they disclosed that Tommy always looks camera-ready even when taking a nap on his chair. Asked whom they got starstruck with on the set, Kyle sounded so ‘kilig’ when he recalled the first time he saw Angel Aquino, “Kami ni JK talaga, araw-araw naming sinasabi sa kanya, ‘Napakaganda mo, Ms. A.’ Kasi totoo, napakaganda niya talaga, iba ‘yung dating niya.”As for Gela, she was starstruck with Zaijian and Xyriel, whom she used to just watch in their respective series “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/maybukaspa">May Bukas Pa</a>” and “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/articles-photos/throwback-the-star-of-agua-bendita-2010-14806">Agua Bendita</a>” growing up, “Like, when we’re in a scene, minsan nanonood ako sa kanila I forget na I’m part of it. I’m like, ‘Ay, wait, si Agua Bendita ‘to at saka si Santino.’” Meanwhile, Elijah felt like a winner when he met Leo Martinez on set, “Kami ni JK, hindi namin alam na he’s part of the show, like, we just saw it sa call sheet.” He remembers watching the veteran actor-comedian’s movies as a kid, thus he, as well as JK, were ecstatic to meet him. “We we’re like, ‘Tara, lapit tayo.’ He didn’t say a word but we’re so happy. He just shook our hand, pero, yeah, we’re so happy” Even with the amount of kulitan they share off-cam, these young stars would only need a few minutes to load up on emotions and be in character. Some of them can even do it in a snap. “May iba sa amin na talagang, ‘Ha? Actor’s cue mo na ‘yun? Ang bilis ah!,’” Kyle shared. “Sina Ms. A, si Andrea. Kaya din ni Xyriel ‘yun, pati si Tita [Sylvia].” The creatives truly hit the jackpot by putting the right actors on the show, gifting us with pure acting brilliance every night.
