The Lady Blazers were armed with a twice-to-beat edge after taking the No. 1 seed in the semifinals.Already waiting in the championship series are defending champion Arellano University, which earlier swept San Beda University in straight sets.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://sports.abs-cbn.com/ncaa/news/2019/01/22/lady-chiefs-punch-third-straight-finals-ticket-52459">READ: Lady Chiefs punch third straight finals ticket</a></li></ul>Veteran Cindy Imbo came through with a superb performance, tallying 19 points, 17 digs, and 16 receptions. Jenny Gaviola added 15 points, and Jhona Rosal scored 11. The Lady Altas pounced on CSB&#x27;s shaky reception, scoring 12 points off their serve.&quot;Isa na lang. Gagawa tayo ng history ulit,&quot; said Perpetual Help coach Macky Carino, who memorably led CSB to its maiden volleyball title in Season 91.&quot;Ang naging key sa amin ngayon ay &#x27;yung target talaga namin sa service,&quot; the coach said. &quot;&#x27;Yung attack namin, parang secondary na lang. Pero ang major talaga ay sa service.&quot;The Lady Altas displayed their poise in seizing the first two sets of the match. An error by CSB setter Jewel Lai gifted Perpetual Help the win in Set 1, and the Lady Altas rode the momentum of that win in the second set, where they led by as much as 11 points, 16-5.But the Lady Blazers worked their way back, and made it a 3-point game late off a crosscourt hit by Klarissa Abriam, 23-20. Fortunately for Perpetual Help, they held on for a 25-21 triumph, thanks to hits by Gaviola and Rosal.A more confident CSB team showed up in the third set, and the Lady Blazers were able to hold off the Lady Altas to extend the match. They looked poised to send the match to a deciding fifth frame after taking a 22-14 lead late thanks to a down-the-line hit by Arianne Daguil.But CSB would score just one more point from there, as the Lady Altas embarked on a tremendous rally anchored by Imbo&#x27;s superb serving.The veteran scored two aces in an 8-0 Perpetual Help blast that knotted the count at 22, before a setting error by Angelou Castillo stopped the bleeding for CSB and gave them a 23-22 lead.At that point, however, all momentum was on the side of the Lady Altas, and the Lady Blazers proceeded to shoot themselves in the foot by committing three straight errors. Daguil sent her serve long, and Michelle Gamit and Marites Pablo both fumbled their attacks as Perpetual Help completed the comeback.&quot;In the fourth set, parang &#x27;yung swerte was on our side,&quot; said Carino, who made some crucial substitutions in the frame when he inserted Jowie Verzosa and Castillo into the game. &quot;Yung ginawa namin ngayon, &#x27;yung ugali namin at &#x27;yung character namin at that time, &#x27;yun ang nagpanalo sa game namin,&quot; he added.Wasted in the loss was an 18-point performance by CSB&#x27;s Rachel Austero, which included six kill blocks. Abriam finished with 15 markers, built on 11 kills and four blocks.The do-or-die game between Perpetual Help and CSB is set for next Tuesday, January 29, still at the San Juan venue.
